(APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has alleged that INEC appointed some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as presiding officers in some states and local government areas. Oshiomhole made the allegation in a statement issued after the party’s caucus meeting held at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Monday, February 18, The New Telegraph reports. He urged that electoral commission to address the allegations made about the inclusion of PDP members as presiding officers to ensure fairness and credibility of the electoral process. “We observed that the list of presiding officers in the states and local government areas published by INEC prior to the aborted February 16 elections contained names of mostly PDP card carrying members and urged INEC to take steps to correct this anomaly to ensure fairness and credibility of the electoral process," Oshiomhole said. He also said the party was disappointed with INEC’s postponement of the presidential and national assembly elections

The APC national chairman urged his party members to rise above the temporary setback from the postponement and redouble efforts for the victory of all our candidates in the February 23 and March 9 dates for the elections. Meanwhile, Okechukwu Ibeanu, a commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in charge of logistics, has been summoned by the Department of State Services (DSS) to answer questions from the officers of the security body. Details of the invitation are yet to be known at the time of this report, but The Cable believes it has to do with the postponement of the general election and the backlash received by INEC. It was learnt that Ibeanu, a professor of political science, took over from Amina Zakari as head of logistics in October 2018. However, a separate 17-member committee was established for the elections and it was headed by Ahmed Tijjani Mu’azu, a retired air vice marshal
